It is extremely important to add the disc, where required, in order to limit the flue gas temperature. Failure to do so could cause a meltdown of the ventor assembly.

When using RFB52 as a replacement on a Clare Megasave gas furnace that was originally equipped with both high and low positive pressure controls, do not drill out and use the hose barb in the side of the ventor- water will tend to collect in the pressure hose. Instead, drill a 5/16″ diameter hole in the top of the PVC vent pipe and form threads with a 1/8″ NPT pipe tap. Screw in a 3/8″ hose barb, Rotom V59-3, and connect the tubing from the pressure controls.

When using RFB52 as a replacement for the Clare B151 ventor on the Original Clare HEG 50, 60,70,80, or as a replacement for a Clare V13 ventor on the early Clare HEG Series models HEG 50A, 60A, 70A, 80A, 90, 100, 110, and 120(not HEG-B Series) and additional stainless steel restrictor disc is required. The disc, ROTOM V52-1, has a 1 1/8″ hole, and must be siliconed in place over the existing restrictor disc located in the inlet to the blower.
